Koneswaram Temple, Fort Frederick and Lovers’ Leap are among the best-known sights around Trincomalee. Nilaveli Beach lies north of the city, while Marble Beach provides another coastal option nearby.

 

Pigeon Island and marine activities

Pigeon Island National Park is known for coral reefs and marine life and is commonly visited by boat from the Nilaveli area. Snorkelling conditions depend on weather and sea conditions, so local guidance is important.
