The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is the city’s main religious attraction, while Kandy Lake, the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya and local viewpoints are popular with visitors. Cultural dance performances are also available.  

Getting around Kandy

The central sights can be reached relatively easily from the city centre, while Peradeniya and the surrounding hills require a short drive. Kandy is also an important starting point for journeys into Sri Lanka’s hill country.
